You never know when or where inspiration will hit you for a song. This one came out of one of those moments of listening to my surroundings then pushing through to turn it into a love song. I was at my favorite taco place for Taco Tuesday. It was a typical rainy late afternoon for Central Florida, and as I was waiting for my order to come someone came in and commented on how busy it was inside that day. The waitress, in reply said, “I guess nobody likes tacos in the rain”. A song title and idea was born right there.

Since Taco Tuesday was about getting together with my family for a brief hour between work, school, and more work, I decided that yes, some people do like tacos in the rain because it’s about the company you keep. This song is about al of that. As I was mixing it down, I think it needs to turn into an ‘80s power ballad in the near future. Keep an ear out for a re-mix, but in the meantime, here is the demo:

In the 2014 challenge news, it’s not quite over even though today is the last day of the year. I have a few songs on the computer that need to be mixed down for posting and another that is just about finished in the writing mode. I have a few personal things to attend to in the next few days so I am going to give myself another week or so to finish up this challenge and move onto phase two in 2015.
